Just when we think we've seen it all, guests continue to surprise us with their individual appetites year after year! From a tailgating theme to just desserts or from trays of pizza to custom charcuterie boards, your meal is up to you! You can choose to bring whatever you fancy, as long as there are no flames!
You can even choose to not bring anything and have your meal delivered from one of our delicious vendors. This year we have partnered with the Backyard Ale House and POSH at the Scranton Club. You can find their menus under the "Vendors" tab.
It's super simple—you call and place your order, arrange payment, and your meal will be awaiting your arrival at the venue—EASY PEASY!

Packing your own dinner for Out of the Blue can be exciting and fun, but figuring out what to exactly to bring might be a bit worrisome. We want your evening to be as stress-free as possible, so we’ve put together a list of different food options that are both fun and easy!
If you’re coming with a larger group, you could have each person at your table bring a different element. A pot-luck style picnic is a great way to get a good variety and also keep your responsibilities manageable.
Simple appetizers like cheeses, fruit, crudité, and breads are a great pairing for your favorite wines. These items are a great starter, but if the variety allows, it could provide for an entire meal!
If you're feeling a bit saucier, you could bring a delicious hummus or vegetable dip with pita slices. Stick with the Mediterranean theme and bring stuffed olives.
Other great picnic options include summer salads and pasta salads. Fun, fresh, and full of color, salads are perfect for an outdoor end-of-summer picnic.
Tea sandwiches are another great option for your eating ease! The combinations are endless when choosing breads, cheeses, meats, and veggies. Cucumber sandwiches are light and refreshing and would pair well with other appetizers. However, if sandwiches are your main course, look to making your club sandwich creative by using mixed greens and whole grain breads.
If you truly enjoy cooking, try baking an artisanal flatbread pizza or perhaps assorted mini-quiches. Both of these items are fairly easy to put together and surprisingly cost effective!
Last but not least – you mustn’t forget about dessert! Beautiful cookies, pastries, tarts, and cupcakes are the perfect ending to a great meal shared with friends.
Feel free to make your meal from scratch or choose to get a take-out package from one of our three incredible vendors! We want our guests to get creative, but above all else, we want you to have fun. Whatever the case, we look forward to a delicious evening of and dazzling conversation!
Menu options checklist
Do you plan on attending Out of the Blue but aren't sure what to wear? Don't let our elegant approach to dressing for dinner turn you away!
The guidelines for Out of the Blue encourage our guests to be dressed elegantly, primarily in blue, but that doesn't mean that we'll be checking for navy socks and blue suede shoes!
Women may want to look for blue blouses and tops or a dress with blue accents. Leave your worries about completing your ensemble with new blue shoes or a blue purse at home.
Men don't have to be concerned with finding a blue suit or chinos. Find a blue dress shirt that looks great on you - either a solid color shirt or one with blue patterns will do. Or you could use a stylish blue tie with navy pants to complete your outfit for the evening.
However you decide to dress, don't let our guidelines make you blue!
